I am 110% pleased with my purchase! I bought the machine primarily to feed my 2 - 3 liter-a-day seltzer habit. The device is so easy to use, fits perfectly on my counter, and the seltzer is DELICIOUS! I use bottled water and it's a cinch.

I have tried the soda mixes as well, and everyone I've served them to was impressed and pleased. I myself find the soda to have just a slight sweetener taste, but it's not overwhelming enough to stop me from having a glass.

I recommend this product to any seltzer-drinker - you'll never run out of refreshing deliciousness.

The SodaStream is extremely easy to use, healthy, and the sodas generally taste good. My favorite flavors are Root Beer and Cola.

Nonetheless, after using up the sample packs which come with it, I had to shop around for more. They are pretty expensive. I figured this would be a cheap alternative to canned soda, but it definitely isn't.

If you simply want to have carbonated water for mixed drinks, this is a good, cheap choice.

We've owned the machine for a little over a week now and we're really pleased with it. We purchased it at Bed Bath & Beyond with the 20% off coupon, and also picked up 2 extra bottles, and 3 large bottles of favoring (not the trial size) and our total cost was $100. We're in Los Angeles and there are several local retailers that will allow us to exchange our tank, so we're not worried about dealing with shipping or anything like that.

Assembly is easy, and the device takes up very little counter space which is a big consideration in our small apartment. It tucks right in and is barely noticeable.

I purchased this after hearing good things about it from my in-laws who've owned their unit since Christmas. We never have soda in the house, but my husband does like seltzer water, so I end up spending about $2/week for 2 1.25L bottles at Trader Joe's. The cost for us was pretty small and it'll take us a couple years to really come out ahead with our Sodastream. However - I decided to purchase based on 2 things: 1)Decreasing our carbon footprint/plastic consumption. I've come to a point where I can't overlook all the ways in which we are wasteful. This is one place I can improve. 2) We would end up wasting some of the seltzer water we purchased when it would go flat. Now we can just re-charge the water and keep going. You can also make the water as fizzy as you want, which is great for different taste buds.

We haven't used much of the flavorings (not the syrups) thus far, but they do seem tasty. My husband really likes to just use the seltzer water and add a splash of OJ. We tried out the Root Beer and the Diet Soda thus far and the flavor is pretty underwhelming. Not to say I won't use it or serve it to guests, but it's no Coke. My only other complaint is that when we added the syrup to the fizzed up water, we got a lot of soda explosion. I'm still not sure how to syrup an entire liter without that happening, and making up 1/2 liter at a time is a bit of a pain. I'm going to keep trying to see if I can improve my technique. I've never been able to pour a beer well either...

Also remember consumers that carbonation contributions to calcium loss from your bones, so make sure you're getting enough calcium in your diet if you're regularly drinking anything carbonated!
