This is the third Mixer for the last 3 years. The first was replaced by kitchenaid within the first year. The second is still in the cabinet I use it to make dough and it is great.

The grinder does not work or if it works (2 minutes) or it gets hot and you will lose it. You will damage the housing and the extended warranty will not repair it. So, Kitchenaid should look into having good durable materials for the housing parts. I guess I need to buy grinder only. Even thought I am paying for both grinder and mixer.

I would not recommend it for grinding. Also, it is too expensive for mixer only. I am Wondering Why CR did not comment on these issues.

I've made plenty of whole whet bread--even four loaves at a time--and I can tell my mixer is working hard but it never ever gave me any trouble or stopped working. This mixer is fantastic. I can triple the nestle chocolate chip cookie recipe and it mixes it up just fine. It is very powerful and whips up whipped cream or egg whites in no time! I've over whipped them because I've turned my back for a second. This mixer is wonderful. I can't think of one bad issue I've had with it.

Fast Shipping and great product. It is way more powerful than the Artisan series that I first bought. I would advise spending the extra money and getting this one. It is quieter than expected (about like the Artisan) and performs better. I like the extra features like the slow startup and It has not strained like the Artisan did with pizza dough. I look forward to getting the attachments for grain, meat and pasta.
